Domain Registration Terms

Terms specific to domain-name registration, renewal, transfer, and dispute resolution. Aligned with ICANN policy and the rules of the relevant registry.

In plain English
  • Domain registrations are governed by ICANN policies; we apply them to all gTLDs and the corresponding ccTLD rules where applicable.
  • You must keep WHOIS data accurate. Inaccurate or outdated data can result in domain suspension.
  • Disputes over domain ownership are resolved through UDRP/URS — not by us.
  • Once submitted to the registry, registrations are non-refundable.
  • Auto-renewal is on by default; turn it off in your domain dashboard if you don't want it.

Registrants' Rights & Responsibilities

ICANN publishes a benchmark Registrants' Rights & Responsibilities document that complements these Terms. We strongly recommend reading it.

1 — Registration

1. Registration & Eligibility

  • 1

You may register a domain on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability and the registry's eligibility rules (e.g., some ccTLDs require local presence).

  • 2

You must provide accurate registrant, administrative, technical, and billing contact information.

  • 3

A registration becomes effective only once accepted by the registry. We are not responsible for delays caused by registry-side processing.

  • 4

By registering, you agree to the rules of the relevant registry (e.g., Verisign for .com, ICANN-accredited registries for new gTLDs) in addition to these Terms.

2 — WHOIS

2. WHOIS Accuracy

ICANN
  • 1

Registrant contact data is published in WHOIS as required by ICANN, subject to applicable privacy laws (e.g., GDPR — fields may be redacted for natural-person registrants).

  • 2

You must keep WHOIS data accurate and up to date. Failure to respond to verification requests within 15 days may result in domain suspension.

  • 3

You may use a privacy/proxy service we offer for natural-person registrants. The underlying registrant remains responsible for the domain.

3 — Renewal

3. Renewal & Expiration

  • 1

Domains are registered for a term you choose at checkout (1–10 years for most TLDs).

  • 2

We send renewal reminders ~30, ~7, and ~1 days before expiration to the email on file.

  • 3

Auto-renewal is enabled by default. You can disable it any time in your domain dashboard.

  • 4

If a domain expires without renewal, it enters a registry-defined Redemption Grace Period. Recovering it during redemption typically incurs a registry fee.

  • 5

After redemption ends, the domain is released back to the registry and may be re-registered by anyone.

4 — Transfers

4. Transfers

  • 1

You may transfer a domain to another ICANN-accredited registrar at any time after a 60-day post-registration / post-transfer lock, in line with the ICANN Transfer Policy.

  • 2

You may transfer ownership ("change of registrant"). Per ICANN's Transfer Policy, this may impose a 60-day registrar-transfer lock unless you opt out at the time of change.

  • 3

We do not charge transfer-out fees. Some TLDs require renewal as part of transfer-in.

5 — Disputes

5. Dispute Resolution (UDRP & URS)

Disputes about the rights to register or use a domain name are governed by ICANN's Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP) and, for new gTLDs, the Uniform Rapid Suspension System (URS). LabelWebs is not a decision-maker in these disputes; we comply with decisions issued under those policies.

UDRP

Used for trademark-based disputes. Complaints are filed with an ICANN-approved provider (e.g., WIPO, Forum). Outcomes can transfer or cancel a domain.

URS

A faster, more limited remedy that suspends — but does not transfer — clearly infringing domains in new gTLDs.

6 — Refunds

6. Domain Refunds

Domains are non-refundable
Once submitted to the registry, registrations and renewals are non-refundable, including in the case of typos or buyer's remorse. This is a registry-side rule, not a LabelWebs choice.
7 — Misc

7. Miscellaneous

  • 1

These Domain Terms are governed by the same Governing Law and Dispute Resolution provisions set out in our Terms of Service (Article 14).

  • 2

Specific TLD rules may add to these Terms; in case of conflict, the registry rules and ICANN policies prevail for matters they govern.

  • 3

You can submit complaints about a registrar to ICANN at icann.org/wicf.
